I Loved It!
Vicki Quade is hilarious as Mrs. O’Brien, the bingo caller at Our Lady of Good Fortune. She interacts with the audience, involving nearly every person in some way. Her stories, jokes, and jabs had everyone rolling, and even those who raised her “ire” were laughing with the rest of us. The show flies by and is over almost too quickly. Both my husband and I won Bingo rounds, and received fabulous religious prizes. I’ll cherish my Pope-a-palooza cards forever. The show is family friendly and is great for groups. You don’t have to be Catholic to have a great time at the show either. Go see it!
Attended with two pastors. We had a great time. It was hilarious. The venue is nice and intimate. Good fun for an evening out. Go see it!
“I am a lapsed Catholic and my friend Barbara was raised Evangelical Protestant. We both LOVED this show. It’s warm and funny as it gently pokes fun at the traditions of Catholicism as well as some of the contradictions of the Bible. The show is highly interactive and I would estimate that about 90% of the audience took part by winning Bingo and coming onstage for a prize, answering questions, assisting the Bingo caller and ad-libbing comments. Vicki Quade, who wrote the show and performs it, has the laid-back charm of a fok singer and in her easy-going way, called to mind such legendary Chicago performers as Jim Post and Corky Siegel. This is a show for the whole family and can be enjoyed even by heretic Protestants.”
